Setting The Bar

Steven OnojaI’m a big fan of tailoring but Im a bigger fan of menswear fashion in general. You can never go wrong with tailoring as it is extremely versatile but at this present time I really like experimenting with tailoring. What I am wearing in the images is a reworked vintage three pieces suits with no alterations. It doesn’t looks any different as I made no changes as I was very keen to make it look more vintage and original. When I wear this three piece I do feel like I am channeling someone wearing a suit from the 1960s but with a complete modern edge.

Todays look is simple and chic. I wanted something that would stand out, yet not add the “peacock” look to myself. This dark brown from Bar III, three piece suit was PERFECT! The fabric was heavy enough for those chilly NYC days, and the coat itself was not overly long. The tailoring process of this look was a bit different than my usual. Can you believe I didn’t tailor any of the items? The blazer fit like a glove, and I went with bit longer on the trousers, with no cuff for that added ‘classic’ appeal. Pairing the shoes was easy, espresso colored brogues.

#Settingthebar with Bar III! For those of you who aren’t familiar, Bar III is Macy’s original ready to wear line for both men and woman that launched back in the spring of 2011. Overall, when in New York, I try to emulate ‘old’ NYC. I like a very polished and tailored look which BarIII is able to accommodate.
