Steven OnojaI may have spoken a little too soon on a few of my last blog posts, because New York has almost skipped autumn and went straight to winter! Braving a brisk 50 degrees during sunset, Karston and I took on Dumbo to shoot some new threads. I’ll admit I skimp more on shoes then any other piece in my wardrobe. I really just haven’t got to the point in my life where I care to much to have a variety of different clogs. I prefer having a few, simple, reliable shoes BUT I’ll admit these ones (above) have spoke to me for the up-coming season. It wouldn’t hurt to have some new footwear for the season, after all, it is a lot of blocks to cover going from meeting to meeting.

What we have here is Sebago take on a modern Collier Chukka. Workday or weekend, this style’s easy elegance is impressive and versatile. The Collier Chukka is a low-profile, lightweight and versatile boot in sumptuous suede and a dressier, stacked heel. Pair the navy, wine and mustard autumnal hues with warm neutrals or denim. Bonus secondary laces are included.

What stands out about this shoe is the crepe sole which is usually found on a dessert boot, however this sole is slightly thicker than the average. As well as the boldness of the shoe, it’s the sole that makes this shoe look very modern and high fashion. Chunky looking soles were all over the catwalk for AW14 and continue from last season into the current. The sole on this wingtip brogue definitely gives this shoe a mod look. They would look great worn with an all-black mod ensemble or with dark trousers like in the example above.
Steven OnojaSteven OnojaMy thick New Look Men coat saved the day and kept me warm against the wind-chill. Hardy Amies introduces its 6 Signature pieces. Called The Hardy and underpinning the seasonal collection, these Modern Classics are designed to be contemporary, versatile and affordable. Whether it’s a coat with a blazer or a sweater with a beanie, winter offers endless outfit possibilities. I styled the look with a Navy blue shirt, dark-blue trousers, a pair of classic brown Collier Chukka (also all New Look Men), and to finish the style; a thick grey watch. Although I’m ranting about the weather it really is an awesome time for fashion, especially for those who indulge in layering. This is definitely a shoe that I will be adding to my collection.
