Project Show

DAY 1

I’ve witnessed these scarves first hand and they are nothing short of what they set out to be. Fine materials, provided by the oldest mills in the America, UK, Korea and Italy. Some of which being around over 200 years. Everything about this collection is on point, the clothes being a baggy fit. The proportioning of the jackets as well as the doubling of the pants and jackets all together.

Traditional detailing and textured fabrics give the collection a minimalist, yet durable feeling. The collection includes 20 styles in various colour ways for both men and women.
In true explorer form.

One of our post popular Sunglasses. With the subtle combinations of contemporary interpretations of timeless designs, eyewear offers accessible luxury with eyewear that is distinctive yet elegant. Emphasis is placed on quality materials that consist of temples made from cellulose propionate, a nylon-based plastic that is hypoallergenic, lightweight and has more transparency and gloss than other plastics.

Now some basics / timeless pieces are not made for everyone and everyone’s budget does not weight out to be the same. So prioritizing is very important on what you decide to pick up. Decide what garments fit well with your lifestyle or current situation and how much wear you think you will get out of it. For instance if you need dress shirts, your first choice should be a plain and simple white button-cuff with a turn-down collar but don’t stop with just one. If you find a style from a brand that you like do not hesitate to purchase more then just one. Reason being you will wear them frequently and they are fast to get dirty, and then start dabbling into other styles.

It has been a productive week so far with the Project Show here in NYC, been a part of the blogger project. As well as seeing the Show is a great time to network and reunite with professionals. Day 2 of an amazing 3 days I left feeling inspired as well as wanting many outfits from most of the collections.

The site has a great selection of men’s fashion, from heritage brands to newer names aimed at men that are more aware of trends and quality. It surely is a unique online menswear destination. The collection contains Nordic patterns and bold textiles on sweaters and knitwear. You can find check prints on shirts, blazers, coats and trousers, which instantly gives a more modern feel.

Pieces are partnered with jeans, corduroys and pants featuring paint splash designs, giving a sporty element to the collection. Overall, Doublet has a variety of pieces which are great for a contemporary man. If you like smart, casual but quirky products that look and feel great.

I was anticipating what the designers would bring for the coming season and believe me, I was not disappointed. I saw the likes of Cole haan, Del toro, J. brand, Hudson Jeans, Paige denimStone rose, Trask, The nerdys, Todd Snyder, W.R.K, Wahts, Will leather shoe company, Simpsons, Randolph, Relwen, Rodd & Gunn, and more. SS15 brought a range of quirky silhouettes, smart and casual. Modern tailoring was definitely making a stand in the Project show collections. Some shows included imaginative, sporty pieces which were outstanding.
