Few months ago, Joseph Abboud, one of my favorite brands, invited me to create a J. A. Custom suit and travel to New Bedford, MA for a tour of their factory with a crew of fellow menswear bloggers. We had the opportunity to see first hand where all of their tailored clothing is manufactured. My J. A. Custom suit is unbelievable. As with every Joseph Abboud suit, the fit is superb, plus the quality and craftsmanship shows expert attention to detail.
This was my favorite fabric I came across when designing my Joseph Abboud J. A. Custom suit. I chose a plaid linen three-piece suit for effortless summer layering. My pants are a wide leg trouser with a higher rise, as I wanted these to be more high-waisted than usual. When you step back, you get a bigger picture of the shape and proportion, but when you get closer, that image is actually made up of many complicated textures and colors. For a well dress guy like myself, I don’t play by the book. I love mixing-and-matching, which is a quality that also extends into my suiting habits.
Joseph Abboud, the founder and just an all-around amazing guy, infused each suit with history and classic charm you don’t find in men’s suits any more. Be sure to check out his full collection of spring/summer suits. Joseph Abboud and his team in New Bedford, MA put so much heart, soul, and craftsmanship into every collection and it certainly shows! Was a pleasure to partner with the brand.
During our time in New bedford, MA we had the opportunity to personally witness the creative process from start to finish. From choosing my fabrics to visiting the factory in Boston, the entire experience is something I would never forget.
I can’t thank them enough for partnering with us for this experience!
