As Men’s Fashion Week 2018 approached I had the honor of partnering up with one of my favorite menswear brands, Joseph Abboud. I’ve partnered up with Joseph Abboud in the past and every year I am left more impressed than before.

This year Joseph Abboud aimed to redefine American style for his Fall/Winter 2018 collection. Inspired by New York City and Old Hollywood in the 1930’s and 40’s, Joseph Abboud’s new collection features exaggerated glen plaids, houndstooth, and pinstriped patterns with subtle accents of Art Deco. Each piece is intricately tailored giving each item a lavish demeanor. The tailored clothing features slightly wider silhouettes, jackets with roped shoulders, swing overcoats, double pleat trousers, wingtip shoes, cricket sweaters, double-breasted vests, and simple fedora hats. There’s bound to be a little bit of something for everyone.

Steven OnojaThe best part of partnering with Joseph Abboud, besides the show, is the amazing custom tailored suit that I get to create. Truthfully who wouldn’t want to sport a suit everything outside of the conventional work requirements? It’s always a pleasure visiting the Joseph Abboud Flagship store in Manhattan and look at a table cover with unique fabrics. By no means do I want to sound like an annoying advert, but the store provided in-store tailoring, great fabric, different cuts and last but not least a reasonable price.

Steven OnojaIdeally a wool suit perfect for the slightly colder weather. I went? with the two button, drafted with double vent and flap packet. I kept it as simple as possible, but kept that old Hollywood vibe. The grey plaid was definitely a perfect selection for me.

This past NYFW was one of my busiest – I was invited once again to be apart of his vision. I went to the usual show. It was an outstanding presentation that I was really impressed by. They displayed a great sense of color, particularly grey or black palette for fall and winter. That said, I’m pretty sure everyone is still awaiting the burst of the Fall/winter ’18 season. You can take a look for yourself, let me know your thoughts.

As a resident New Yorkers it is truly a pleasure, and we are always excited to see what each fashion week has in store.
